In order to embark on making the website for our film we've analysed a number of websites to see what works best and would would fit with the aesthetic of our film.
When you get into the site this is the page that you are greeted with which immediately shows you the awards the film has won this year, showing off it's success. You are given three options at the bottom of these awards that make it easy for you to buy tickets or music something I feel could be effective on our website making it easier for our audience to navigate the website. When you click enter the site this is what it looks like:
The home page instantly shows the audience the feel of the film. Introducing the audience not only to the main characters but to the cinematography they will see in the film. The home page also has music playing in the background to emphasise the musical aspect of the film. Tom Rosenthal's music is a big part of our film and are cinematography is equally if not more important so this moving image homepage idea could be one that works well with our website.
Before being allowed onto the website you have to watch the trailer (or skip it but this is a small button) this is clever marketing as it makes sure the majority of the audience see your most important promotion toll instantly.
Again the homepage introduces the audience to the main characters, it flicks thought the awards for the film and includes obvious links to buying the DVD.
I particularly like how the website keeps the navigating bar at the top of every page with the film logo central. I also think the large images and minimal text is effective and something we could apply to our website.
